The saw has a chain oiling system. Press the plunger and a bit of oil is squeezed out onto the chain. No, Never had a drop come out onto the chain. Took the chain off and watched the oil come out as I pumped the plunger, should have worked, but still never got aa drop on the chain. Finally just sprayed the chain with WD40 and got on with it. Otherwise, I like the saw just fine.

Looks like my wife will be able to handle it safely,, if she keeps 2 hands on the machine when in use. Lack of spare chains and 8" bar for backup is somewhat unsettling... chains and bars are expendable parts and not available, yet.??
